Truth Be Told Lucinda Bassett

I have had the pleasure of reviewing an exerpt from "Truth Be Told" by Lucinda Bassett.  I started reading it and was immediately drawn into the story that she shares of the loss of her husband to suicide.  Suicide is a touchy subject.  So many people who have been touched by it, don't want to talk about it as if it were a shame on them  Lucinda Bassett shares her pain and confusion at the realization that her husband was mentally ill and his seemingly normal behavior changed into his ultimate decision to take his own life.  I would recommend this book based soley on the prologue.  The short portion I was privileged to read led me to want more.

In The Beginning....

I am on a journey.  It started years ago when I was in school and I decided I loved the written word.  I used to sit in my bedroom at night and read until I fell asleep and my mother would come in the room and take the book from underneath me.  I had series of books, Victoria Holt mostly and I dreamed that one day I could write a book myself.  When I was 15, I lived in a foreign county and found myself isolated and that's when I decided to try to write a book.  I got out a notepad and wrote it by hand and when my parents saw my interest, they bought me a typewriter.  I pounded out my book and dreamed that one day I would get to publish it.  Well, that wasn't a reality.  It was too expensive to try to publish myself and a publisher would never have seriously considered a 15 years old's attempt at writing.  Now, years later, I am on the verge of seeing my dream become a reality.  I am so happy to share this journey with you!  My first novel will be titled "Love By Design" and it will be the first in a two-part "Design" series.
If you have any comments, please share them.
